Pseudonymous and permanent properties bitcoin give future hope, said Jack Dorsey of Twitter

Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square and Twitter, explored the potential of bitcoin in a virtual interview for The Oslo Freedom Forum. During the digitally hosted interview, Dorsey talked about the attacks on Twitter, focusing on the ability of users to remain private.
Difference pseudonymous and anonymous

Dorsey discussed the importance of pseudonymity, one of the most important characteristics of bitocin:

„I appreciate the difference between pseudonymity and anonymity. Anonymity feels more random, where pseudonymity is built on identity and that’s what we want to appreciate and that’s what we ultimately want to protect. ”

Here he talks about what bitcoin can add. Bitcoin owners, traders and investors are partly known through their wallet addresses. However, the owners of the wallet are unknown and untraceable. Because of the transparent nature of blockchain and the technology on which bitcoin is based, bitcoin is more of a pseudonym than anonymous.

Trust in distrustful environment

Dorsey continued pricing bitcoin, and what features he would like to take over for Twitter:

‚We build the right secure systems on our platforms so we can trust in an unfamiliar environment. There are many newer technologies that provide this. For example, the whole spirit of Bitcoin is to provide a trusted system in a suspicious environment, the Internet. And those technologies will give us new possibilities.
Keep Developing

A few months ago many well-known Twitter accounts of politicians were taken over by hackers, Dorsey says that security is not something that can be perfected and that it is a constant battle to be 10 steps ahead of your attackers.

However, he also believes that ownership is crucial and that users should be able to have central capabilities for their own accounts. Bitcoin, for example, is a primary example of this, where individuals have full access to their tokens with private keys and wallets.

Speaking of decentralized ownership, Dorsey suggested that the Internet is still under centralized control, but Bitcoin represents the capabilities:

You can see that this is the most fundamental thing in the work of Bitcoin and blockchain and that gives me hope and a lot of peace of mind to solve these problems.
Blockchain paves the way for online content

That Dorsey is a fan of blockchain is no secret anymore. He praises the technique because of its transparent and permanent character. He finds it extremely important to be able to authenticate content:

Blockchain and Bitcoin point to a future, and point to a world where content exists forever, where it is permanent, where it does not leave, where it exists forever on every node that is connected to it.
